Hello Doc Eileen, Welcome to our message board, "papaitan" is always number one on my hitlist everytime I go to the north. Sad to hear though what happened to your goats, feel free to browse on goat topics on this MB See you at the AgriLink Mabuhay ka! Farmer Nestor To all new members please introduce yourself here. Welcome Aboard! Hi there, I am eileen bautista-habawel,md. I am a physician by profession and a farmer on weekends. My husband and i have a farm in Mariveles Bataan and in Lamut, Ifugao. We started goat raising because we are fond of caldereta and pinapaitan ;D. five years ago, someone gave me 3 does from djanggas and this got us interested in goat-raising. after a year and a half, we started to go "big" and bought does and doelings left and right until it went up to 135 then our nightmare started . we lost them one after another. (I posted our sad experience earlier) I am a member of gaspar 3. i saw the pics of your farm and i hope we can have a " lakbay aral" thing with the federation members so we can learn from you. hope to see you in the agri fair. eileen

Let us continue to promote goat raising...

hi im belle from cebu, d owner of...belle's goat farm. feel free to browse my farm pix at bellegoatfarm@yahoo.com sa yahoo egroups. I breed boer-saanen, anglo-boer goats, i have also alpine boer goats and i have also upgraded goats. My farm location is Daanbantayan Cebu its 130km from Cebu City, nice location for goats plenty of forage and space. I want to know more about how to improve goat farming to become effecient, marketing and disease management. I think these three are vital. I would gladly appreciate if anyone share his ideas. lets us discuss relevant topic and the truth about the "market" of rasing goats. I hope we can rely on each other because the seminars for goats are expensive. So might as well think of another alternative to gather information not doesnt cost a single penny. Hope to hear from anyone soon! thanks and more power for this site.

Hi Jun, Welcome to our message board! Mabuhay Ka! Hi to all, I just started my own backyard farm here in cebu city with 9 heads mix of local and purebred boer. I work as a call center agent and invested my money in this kind of industry. Maliit lang muna kase hindi kaya ng budget I hope I can learn a lot from this site because I wanted to expand and produce more heads and soon will have all hybrid goats. Thanks, William Martin Jr

WELCOME TO ALL NEW MEMBERS!! joel: If you are going for meat type Boer is your goat, while the Nubians are for both meat & dairy. Prices of meat will depend on your area, some are selling @ 120-180/kg live. Mabalos!
