The coming year brings a lot of promise to the goat industry. We all have learned valuable lessons the past year and the year 2012 brings more exciting challenges to all of us.
For Oyibo's, 2012 will see us produce more milk and find new and untapped markets for our products. 2011 may have been financially draining for us but we are hopeful that the infrastructure we have put in place will help us achieve our goals for the coming year.
It was really a busy year with the construction that took place in the farm and which have been made busier with the arrival of our 3rd generation of kids. We are still expecting kids from 16 expecting does till end of March.
We are more or less at it as far as our kidding rate of 1.65 is concerned just a shy off industry standard of 1.7. We have been successful though with the arrival of more doelings than bucklings.
To all of you you have shared or read articles in this forum, we thank you. We hope to be sharing more information in the coming year as we expect less construction but more R&D.
