Greetings from your FGASPAPI!!!
As you are probably aware, the 18th AgriLink/FoodLink/AquaLink will be held on
October 6 to 8, 2011 at the World Trade Center at the corner of Rozas Blvd. and
Gil Puyat Streets. As in the past AgriLink events especially in last year's,
FGASPAPI has always been an agressive participant in this annual event. During
the last 5 or 6 AgriLink events, we have seen how the Goat and Sheep animal
exhibits have evolved from the upgrades we first showed the public our goats to
the now world class purebreeds and fullbloods we have shown in last year's
exhibits. This year will even show better, bigger, healthier, more productive
and genetically improved animals.
This year is going to be another banner year for the Small Ruminant Industry.
While government statistics is reporting a downtrend in the countrywide goat
population, the commercial sector continue to grow by leaps and bounds, largely
because of our agressive promotions of small ruminant raising. We will continue
to agressively encourage more entrepreneurs to invest in small ruminant raising
in our effort to ultimately improve the genetic make-up of our general goat herd
to increase goat meat production.
Some of the activities lined up for the event are as follows:
1. FGASPAPI Courtesy Booth
2. Goat and Sheep live animals display;
3. Goat Meat, Milk and processed foods;
2. Goat Seminar;
3. Goat and Sheep Show/Competition
While we are making the final arrangements for our participation to AgriLink, we
encouraging everybody to attend and support our activities. We expect the Goat
and Sheep Show to be a crowd drawer during this years event and I urge all Goat
and Sheep breeders to ready their animals for the competition. We will also
take
advantage of the opportunity to announce and promote our 5th Goat and Sheep
Congress which will be held at Clark Airforce Base in Pampanga on March 2012.
